Version

Build your own 3D-printed low-bypass turbofan, the kind of engine that powers fighter jets. The cutaway shows the stages inside, and once it's built the spools turn on real ball bearings, so you can spin the fan and watch the core move with it.

This is a build-it-yourself kit

The engine ships as a kit of 3D-printed parts. It does not come pre-assembled, and there is no pre-built option. It's a more challenging build than a typical model kit, so plan on taking your time.

Choose your version

  • Standard: spin the fan by hand and watch the spools turn.
  • Motorized: adds a motor that spins the engine for you. It's powered through a USB-C port at the back of the engine, with a speed control to turn it up or down.

Motorized version: wiring required

You'll wire the motor yourself, so you should be comfortable with basic electronics. The instructions walk you through every step.

What's included

  • All 3D-printed engine parts
  • Ball bearings for the rotating stages
  • Display stand
  • Build instructions, printed in the kit and emailed to you after you order
